SmCo Magnet
Samarium Cobalt (SmCo) magnets ,the second generation of Rare Earth magnet material, have high magnetic properties, excellent thermal stability and resistant to corrosion. Compared with NdFeB, It needn't to be coated. It can typically be used up to 300 °C. Therefore , It is used in those fields,that applications demand resistance to wide range temperature and environments. How ever,It is extremely brittle and should not be used a structural component in an assembly.
Smco magnets are manufactured by sintering or compression bonding. They are anisotropic and can only be magnetized in the direction of orientation. |
